I read an article about the March wildfires up on Dartmoor, and the numerous fledglings it would have wiped out. It is terrifying to contemplate this new world we are moving into, isn’t it?
It was similar here in 2022, with fires hitting wildlife reserves on the coast, though that was later in the year, so less of an impact on ground nesting birds. The timing of the march fires in Dartmoor was just terrible.
